Scattered around my half-made bed
are books half incomplete.
Half of your painting now
stares me down from the easel,
Half of the unwritten poems

If only
If only I could be your favourite song
and haunt you every now and then
when you are in your office meetings
and I start playing in your head.
And during your lunch break
when you are standing in the queue
I creep back within your thoughts
as you tap your left foot,
but you stop abruptly
And you smile awkwardly to people

And when you reach home
you throw your bags and shoes
and from that dusty rack of memories
take my tape out and quickly hit play.
And dance the whole evening
with a pillow as big as me
And I would watch you smile and cry
as you sing my lines with a cracked voice.
If only...

If only I could come back from the other side even for a minute or two.
If only I could be your favorite song,
you would remember me forever,
wouldn't you?
Halves
I was the beginnings
and you were the ends,
I was the sunrise
and you,the sunsets.
Weren't we both
just half written poems,
waiting to meet
and be one song.
Weren't we both
the last two puzzle pieces
waiting to be chosen
and be finally solved.
Darling,
tell me again..
where did we go wrong?

Beauty and the beast
Why should I write about the flowers,
the sunset and love?
Words that romanticize beauty
have created fictitious expectations in the lover’s mind.
Write about the thorns,
the eclipse and betrayal.
Let them know that beauty is a spectrum.
Words that romanticize darkness will harden the lover’s soul.
